With reports linking Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor with a Tottenham exit, Spurs could quickly find themselves light in attack come the turn of the year.

Spaniard Roberto Soldado is currently manager Andre Villas-Boas' first-choice striker, with Defoe only starting once in the Premier League and Emmanuel Adebayor yet to feature this season.

Should either (or both) depart White Hart Lane in January, it is almost inconceivable that chairman Daniel Levy wouldn't act to bring in another striker, having already made seven signings thanks to the world-record sale of Gareth Bale during the summer.

But who could Levy turn to in his quest to secure a Champions League return?
