Jordi Gomez, 24, became Wigan manager Roberto Martinez's first signing at the DW yesterday for £1.75m. The Spaniard, who joins from Espanyol, spent last season on loan at Swansea under Martinez.

Seville have put a move for Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora on hold. "The distance between what they asked for and what we are willing to offer was so great that we left it there," Seville's president Jose Maria del Nido said.
