Manchester United want defensive recruits in January and it seems the latest player linked with a switch to Old Trafford is Seamus Coleman. When David Moyes was in charge, it wasn't uncommon to see Everton players linked with Manchester United, but it seems even under Louis van Gaal the rumours persist. According to the Daily Star, United are considering a whopping £25m bid for the right-back.

Arsenal also want a defender and according to the Daily Mail have set their sights on Winston Reid. The centre-back has impressed this season and with his contract running out in the summer, Arsenal think West Ham could be willing to sell. £4m ought to do it, although a possible swap deal involving Carl Jenkinson, who is currently on loan at Upton Park, has also been mooted.

Scott Sinclair will surely leave Manchester City soon. The former Swansea player has made just four appearances under Manuel Pellegrini this season and as such he's being linked with a switch away. Crystal Palace and QPR are both ready to make moves according to the Daily Mirror.

Liverpool, expected to be among the busier clubs in January, have been linked with a £23.5m move for West Brom striker Saido Berahino by Metro. There are also a couple of other rumours involving Liverpool, including an exit for Emre Can, who is apparently wanted by Real Sociedad according to the Daily Mirror. Meanwhile The Sun suggest Bayern Munich play-maker Xherdan Shaqiri is to join Juventus rather than move to Anfield.

And finally, Aston Villa are interested in Fulham midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen, who has been hugely impressive this term. The 20-year-old is seen as a replacement for Fabian Delph, who could leave for Tottenham or Liverpool.
