Portsmouth make a Mark
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie believes the club would be "fools" not to be interested in free agent Mark Viduka. "Of course he would interest us," Storrie said.
Hull on the hunt for Beye
Hull have agreed a fee with Newcastle for right-back Habib Beye, with the 31-year-old due at the KC Stadium to discuss terms. "Habib can add quality to the squad," Tigers chairman Paul Duffen said.
Ipswich hope to get Priskin in
Watford have allowed Ipswich to talk to striker Tamas Priskin, after rejecting the Tractor Boy's initial bid.
Bassong joins Spurs
Newcastle defender Sebastien Bassong has joined Tottenham for a reported £8m. With Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson struggling with injuries, manager Harry Redknapp needed reinforcements. Meanwhile, Andros Townsend and Ryan Smith have left White Hart Lane on loan moves to Leyton Orient and Wycombe Wanderers respectively, and Milan have agreed a £13.5m fee with Real Madrid to sign Spurs target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Tigers bring in recruitments
Hull have completed the signings of Seyi Olofinjana from Stoke and USA striker Jozy Altidore. Midfielder Olofinjana joins for £3m, while Altidore arrives on loan from Villarreal. Brown has also handed a trial to Senegal striker Henri Camara.
North-west duo sign loanees
Chelsea striker Scott Sinclair, 20, has joined Wigan Athletic on a one-year loan, while Burnley have completed the loan signing of Ecuadorian Fernando Guerrero, 19, from Independiente del Valle.
Bougherra keen to stay
Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra says the prospect of Champions League football persuaded him to stay, amid interest from Wigan and Bordeaux. "I came to a big club who play Champions League every year and win the title," the Algerian said.
