Villa meets with Barça
The Valencia striker David Villa is closing in on a move to Barcelona after reportedly meeting the Catalans' sporting director Txiki Beguristain. Barça are also set to turn their attentions once more to Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.
Edgar agrees Clarets deal
Burnley have snapped up Newcastle defender David Edgar on a free transfer. The Canadian, 22, agreed a four-year deal.
Surman sale boosts Saints
Wolves have signed Andrew Surman for around £1.2m from cash-strapped Southampton. The versatile 22-year old has signed a three-year deal.
Davis joins Bolton
Midfielder Sean Davis has joined Bolton on a free transfer from Portsmouth. "I wanted to move to a club where I can play my football and be appreciated."
Ramsay extends contract
The 18-year-old Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsay has signed a contract extension. The Welsh international made 22 appearances is all competitions last season.
City release quartet
Danny Mills, Darius Vassell, Michael Ball and Dietmar Hamann have all been released by Manchester City.
