Valencia coach Unai Emery has confirmed they are looking at Tottenham's Cesar Sanchez as a possible answer to their goalkeeping problem.

With first-choice custodian Renan Brito set to be sidelined for around six weeks through injury, Valencia are in need of reinforcements and coach Emery admits that the vastly-experienced Cesar fits the bill.

Spaniard Cesar joined Tottenham from Real Zaragoza last summer but has found his chances limited at White Hart Lane, where Heurelho Gomes is the preferred stopper.

Emery said today: "We need to sign a goalkeeper because of the injury to Renan. We must also think about finances and the economic situation of the club.

"Cesar fits into these parameters. He already knows the Spanish league and he would adapt and be incorporated immediately. He would be ready to come and although he is 37 years old he is full of desire."
