In Friday's news, Chelsea are believed to be readying themselves for a flurry of bids for goalkeeper Petr Cech, should he be overlooked for Chelsea's opening Premier League encounter against Burnley on Monday.

Cech is battling with Thibault Courtois for the No 1 shirt, and Jose Mourinho is yet to reveal which one he has decided to go with heading into the new season.

Liverpool will reward Raheem Sterling with a huge pay rise after his impressive breakthrough season last term. The midfielder was the one shining light for England at the recent World Cup, and it's believed that any long-term deal is an attempt to keep him out of the clutches of Champions League winners Real Madrid.

Liverpool are also hopeful that an improved £16m bid for Swansea striker Wilfried Bony will be enough for the Welsh side to part company with the sought-after forward.

Arsenal have been linked with an audacious triple bid for Edinson Cavani, Marco Reus and Sami Khedira as they continue their summer strengthening. The Gunners have already added four player this season including Alexis Sanchez and Calum Chambers, and they go into tomorrow's tie against manager-less Crystal Palace having already won the Community Shield.

Finally, Manchester United are said to be considering a £50m bid for Angel Di Maria. The Real Madrid winger had appeared close to a move to Old Trafford earlier in the summer, and could yet make his way to England to join Louis van Gaal's side.
