Wayne Rooney is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report in French newspaper L'Equipe yesterday.
The Manchester United striker asked for a transfer away from Old Trafford last month and despite the change of manager at Manchester United since then, his future remains far from certain.
Few clubs could afford to pay the England striker's £250,000-a-week wages, but of those that could, PSG are among them.
According to the report in L'Equipe, an unnamed English source claims Rooney is "enormously interested" by an approach from PSG and that the 27-year-old has replaced Napoli forward Edinson Cavani as the French club's prime target this summer.
Rooney has two years to run on his existing deal and it's thought a decision one way or another about his future will be made this summer before the length of his contract is allowed to diminish. The former Everton player is expected to hold talks with new Manchester United manager David Moyes soon so that all parties can begin to move forward.Reuse content
