In Monday's news, Manchester City confirmed the signing of French defender Eliaquim Mangala from FC Porto for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old becomes Manuel Pellegrini's sixth signing of the summer.
There's a lot of activity and rumours on the other side of Manchester. United look to have missed out on Germany defender Mats Hummels after Borussia Dortmund head coach Jurgen Klopp named him captain for the new season.
United have been linked with a move for Hummels for most of the summer and Arsenal are also believed to be interested in the 25-year-old Germany international. But Hummels has previously admitted that he would be happy to stay with Dortmund for at least another season.

There is more encouraging news for United regarding the possible capture of Arturo Vidal. Italian media are reporting Vidal's agent will be in Manchester this week to discuss a possible move to Old Trafford.
According to Rai Sport, the Chilean's agent was in London to watch another one of his client's, Alexis Sanchez, play for Arsenal in the Community Shield.
The Italian TV channel says Vidal's agent will now travel to Manchester to meet with Louis van Gaal over their proposed blockbuster move for the 27-year-old.
United may also have a chance of clinching Colombian World Cup start Juan Cuadrado. The 26-year-old has asked to leave Fiorentina and he is believed to be a key target of van Gaal's. However, Barcelona are apparently also keen to sign the winger.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are ready to increase their interest in bringing Daniel Agger in from Liverpool. Agger looks set to leave Anfield this summer after becoming frustrated with his fall down the pecking order under manager Brendan Rodgers.
However, Rodgers has revealed that the club are yet to receive a formal offer for the defender. Arsenal are looking to replace Thomas Vermaelen after the former club captain completed a £15m move to Barcelona over the weekend.
