England players 'fear press more than Capello'
English players are constrained by fear when they play for the national side and are more interested in impressing the media than the manager, according to the Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
"The intensity of the press does get to the players. Sometimes I think players would prefer the press guys to think they had played well, rather than the manager," the centre-back, who has 38 England caps, told BBC radio. "One mistake and you could be absolutely slaughtered."
