Euro 2012 Diary: German fans use lip service
Thursday 21 June 2012
A deaf supporter is giving followers of Germany an insight into their heroes' communication. Julia Probst is providing Twitter users with an alternative way of watching the Germans in action – by using lip-reading.
During Euro 2012, Probst has tweeted such beauties from the German players as "Come on, Lukas!" and "Oh my God", under the handle @EinAugenschmaus – which translates as "a treat to the eye".
England are potential semi-final opponents for the Germans – perhaps Roy Hodgson should log on and gain some valuable insights.
Czech mate for Ronaldo
The Czech Republic head into tonight's quarter-final against Portugal as underdogs, but one of their players is even having trouble garnering support from his nearest and dearest.
The former Spurs player David Limbersky's girlfriend is delighted that the left-back will encounter Cristiano Ronaldo in Warsaw tonight.
"My girlfriend told me I would become a real footballer when I manage to face Ronaldo," the 28-year-old said. "She's crazy about him."
