Fresh from his photographer duties, Lionel Messi was again at the butt of the joke last night as he was duped by a Ronaldinho lookalike.

For a moment the Argentina forward, who is being backed to make a major impact on this summer's tournament, believed the Brazil legend and his former Barcelona team-mate had come to say hello.

As the Argentina squad trained in front of the media and fans at Belo Horizonte's Estadio Independencia dozens of supporters climbed the fences to get a little closer to Messi and his team-mates.

Among the supporters was a Ronaldinho double who managed to shake the hand of Messi, who quickly realised it was not actually the Atletico Mineiro player.
