World Cup 2014: Steven Gerrard literally melts in new advert
Bizarre visuals show the England captain struggling in the heat
Is this a vision of what England will experience when they take on Italy in the heat of Manaus in their opening World Cup game?
A new advert for Lucozade shows England captain Steven Gerrard literally melting in the heat in a video with visuals compared to Black Swan and Terminator 2.
England have been preparing for the extreme conditions they are likely to face when they play the Italians in the Amazonian city of Manaus in northern Brazil. Roy Hodgson had his squad playing in hats and coats at their training camp in Portugal in a bid to replicate the heat.
Even The Independent's own reporter was put through his paces in the type of conditions that Wayne Rooney and co can expect in their opening Group D game. You can see how he got on by clicking here.
Gerrard will be hoping he doesn't melt in Manaus to the extent he does in the video above, if only for fear of slipping (again) on himself.
