Amir Khan's professional debut on 16 July, has been switched from London to the Olympic silver medallist's home town of Bolton.

Khan's promoter, Frank Warren, has hired the 7,000 capacity Bolton Arena for his new protégé's first paid fight against an opponent yet to be named. "It's nice for Amir to have had his last amateur fight in Bolton and his first professional one there," he said. "We thought about Amir's debut and decided to go to Bolton. We're going to be doing a lot of fights up in the Bolton area."

The whole bill, topped by the British heavyweight title fight between the unbeaten champion, Matt Skelton, and Danny Williams, has been switched from the Docklands' Excel Centre.
