The British Basketball League champions Chester Jets completed the line-up for the play-off quarter-finals last night with an 81-71 win over Milton Keynes Lions, pulling away from the team that finished in eighth place with an 8-0 start to the fourth quarter to open a decisive 67-57 lead.

Calvin Davis and Billy Singleton scored four points each to break the Lions' challenge, and Davis finished top scorer on 24 points ahead of 17 from his team-mate Trey Moore.

In the semi-finals at Birmingham's NIA on Saturday week the Jets will face Scottish Rocks, who finished only sixth in the league but produced the surprise of the quarter-finals by beating third-placed London Towers 65-63.

Rocks' Roni Gordon gave Towers a lifeline when he missed two free throws in the final minute, but when Jerry Williams had the chance to level from the foul line he also missed twice.

The play-off title holders Sheffield Sharks crushed Brighton Bears 91-56 and will face Newcastle Eagles, who defeated Thames Valley Tigers 105-72 on Friday.
