Basketball: Rodman set for two more games
Saturday 11 February 2006
Dennis Rodman, the former NBA legend, is returning to play two more British Basketball League games for Brighton Bears next week, at home to Newcastle Eagles on Tuesday and against London Towers 24 hours later at Crystal Palace.
Guildford have protested that the Bears broke eligibility rules fielding Rodman in addition to their three work-permit players in their 91-88 defeat two weeks ago. Brighton counter-claimed that their Barbadian player Andrew Alleyne no longer required a permit, thus clearing the way for Rodman. The BBL gave them until 4pm yesterday to provide Alleyne's passport showing his resident status.
TJ Walker scored 25 points for Newcastle last night as they defeated Chester Jets 90-79 to close the gap on leaders Scottish Rocks to two points.
