Tyson Fury's world heavyweight title bout with Wladimir Klitschko has been put back to a later date after the Ukrainian pulled out with a calf injury.

Klitschko had been scheduled to face his mandatory challenger Fury on October 24 in Dusseldorf but the fight will now have to moved to a later date.

The postponement was first reported by German newspaper Bild and has since been confirmed by the Bolton-based challenger's uncle and trainer Peter Fury.

The pair came faced up to each other in London on Wednesday at a press conference in which the Bolton-based challenger appeared in a Batman costume.

Appetites had been whetted by Fury's bravado and showmanship but it now seems that fans will have to wait for at least a couple of months to see the pair together in the ring.
