Carl Edwards and his Olympic mount, Bit More Candy, will be competing at the Millstreet World Cup Show in County Cork where the international contests begin today. Carl Edwards and his Olympic mount, Bit More Candy, will be competing at the Millstreet World Cup Show in County Cork where the international contests begin today. Apart from a warm-up in a small class at Southview recently, the Irish show will be the mare's first outing since she flew back from Sydney.

Edwards and Bit More Candy ended this year's Samsung Nations Cup series as leading rider and horse, having jumped double clear rounds at Lisbon, Aachen and Gijon which were the only Nations Cups in which they participated.

Robert Smith, who totally dominated The Horse of the Year Show with his phenomenal seven victories at Wembley Arena, rides three horses - Senator Mr Springfield, Caloubet du Rouet and For The Best - at Millstreet Town's Green Glens Arena.

Smith expects to ride either the seven-year-old Mr Springfield or Caloubet du Rouet in tomorrow's World Cup qualifier, assuming that he is one of those who earn a place in this evening's pre-qualifier.
