Today's meetings at Haydock and Huntingdon depend on early morning inspections with the cold snap forecast to last until at least the weekend.

Today's meetings at Haydock and Huntingdon depend on early morning inspections with the cold snap forecast to last until at least the weekend.

Prospects for Newcastle on Saturday are described as "very bleak" and there will be an inspection there at 1pm today, but Chepstow are more confident of racing on Saturday as they could have raced yesterday.

Snow still threatens Kempton's two-day meeting, which starts tomorrow, but officials are hopeful that Saturday's card, which features the £100,000 Racing Post Chase, will beat the weather.

* Southwell will stage an extra all-weather meeting on Saturday starting at 1.30.
