Phil Taylor said he would relish another chance to play against the Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld.

"The Power" won his 12th PDC World Championship title on Monday night with a hard-fought 7-4 win over Mark Dudbridge in the final at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, and has beaten Van Barneveld and Andy Fordham, who both play on the British Darts Organisation circuit, in one-off encounters.

However, Taylor has expressed his desire to face Van Barneveld again.

Taylor said: "We'll have to sit down and talk about that [another match] and it depends on who wins the other [BDO] world championship. But I would love to play Raymond again. He's a brilliant player and it's a game I would love to be involved in. We'll have to wait and see."

Another target for Taylor is title number 13, although he accepts it will be a tough ask.

"It's getting harder and harder because the players are getting better and I'm not getting any younger," he said. "The players on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit are fantastic and there have been some great matches this week.

"But it would a dream come true to win 13 titles because that's always been my target."
