Sam Ftorek hit a hat-trick as Bracknell Bees recorded their first win for six games with a 7-3 Sekonda Superleague victory over the defending champions, Sheffield Steelers, at the Bee Hive on Sunday.

Mark Turner and Ftorek – sandwiched by a Bob Maudie marker – had the Bees 2-1 up inside 16 minutes before Blair Scott added the third on his 250th competitive appearance. Ftorek and Dan Ceman added to the Steelers' woes before Brad Lauer pulled one back. Darren Hurley (powerplay) and Ftorek's third had Bracknell totally in command before Scott Allison hit a late consolation.

Elsewhere, Manchester Storm ended their three-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw against London Knights at the MEN Arena. Storm took the lead in the 29th minute when Trevor Gallant picked up a turnover in the neutral zone. But Mike Ware's strike in the 38th minute shared the spoils.
