When 50 Cent threw the ceremonial first pitch at the New York Mets v Pittsburgh Pirates game last night, it was anything but on the money.

In a long-time tradition in baseball, a well-known figure is given the honour of opening proceedings by throwing the first pitch of the game. But for rapper 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, it was a moment to forget when his throw went wildly off target.

At least the star of Get Rich or Die Tryin' can take solace that he is not the first celebrity to make a fool of himself from the mound.
