An Italian daredevil has successfully completed what is being described as one of the most technical and difficult base jumps ever attempted.

Wearing a wingsuit, Uli Emanuele flew at great speed through a rock crevice no more than two metres wide.

The stunt was attempted despite two prominent base jumpers dying earlier this year. Dean Potter and Graham Hunt, also using wingsuits, jumped to their accidental deaths in Yosemite national park in May.

Emanuele's successful jump was all filmed using GoPro as part of a promotional video for the camera company.

Emanuele claims to have been training for three years to be ready for the jump.
