Great Britain's leading super-heavyweight prospect for the 2012 Olympics has been suspended by the British Amateur Boxing Association (BABA) after being charged with a drugs offence.

Anthony Joshua, who is the current GB champion and a member of BABA's development squad, will appear in court in Hendon next week accused of possession of an illegal substance with intent to supply.

A BABA spokesperson said: "We have been made aware of an incident involving a member of the GB Boxing development squad. As part of our Athlete Disciplinary Process we are conducting an investigation into this matter."
