The doping revelations surrounding Lance Armstrong must have been in the mind of every cyclist among the 4,000 lining up for his Livestrong charity's Ride for the Roses in Austin, Texas, yesterday.

Armstrong himself said only: "I've been better, but I've also been worse." Cycling's world governing body is due to respond to the evidence against the cyclist today.
