The last book written by legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, who died on June 4 at age 99, will see an early July release date, announced Publishers Weekly on June 7. Wodden had just recently approved the layout for the book, The Wisdom of Wooden: A Century of Family, Faith, and Friends.

Written by Wooden and co-author Steve Jamison, The Wisdom of Wooden is, according to Philip Ruppel of publisher McGraw-Hill Professional, "a pictorial retrospective of [Wooden's] life" including never-before-seen pictures from the UCLA archives with annotations from Wooden. Originally set for fall release, the title is now getting an earlier release date.

Wooden served as head coach of the basketball team at the University of California Los Angeles from 1948 through 1975, leading the team to unprecedented success that earned him a place in sports history. He was the author of seven previous titles that have served as inspiration for modern basketball strategy, beginning with 1997's Wooden, which have sold more than one million copies.
