NBA Free Agency: Shaun Livingston signs three-year $16m to join Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have announced the signing of former Brooklyn Nets combo guard Shaun Livingston.

Livingston, 28, joins the Warriors on a three-year, $16m deal, according to Yahoo Sports.

The 6ft 7in combo guard had a career year in Brooklyn last season, averaging eight points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Once one of the most exciting young players in the NBA, Livingston suffered a devastating knee injury in 2007 that was so bad he was told he might have to have his leg amputated.

He required months of rehabilitation just to be able to walk again, but eventually made a return to professional basketball.

"It's the fit. Definitely the fit," Livingston told ESPN. "I want to remain competitive and this is the best opportunity.

"It's sweet to just be in this opportunity," he added. "You look at coming into the year, you look at what everyone expected me to do and then you look at the offers and the deal that came in. It's sweet."
