Rowing: Searle enjoys golden day in slovenia

The boats in the Men's Eight final at the Rowing World Cup race across Lake Bled in Slovenia yesterday.

To cap a superb weekend for Great Britain, their eight, featuring the 38-year-old Greg Searle, won. Searle, who won an Olympic gold in 1992, is attempting a brave comeback after 10 years of retirement and yesterday's success will help him in his aim to row at the 2012 Games. In all Britain won nine golds, with notable victories for Zac Purchase in the lightweight single sculls and two golds for Katherine Grainger and Anna Watkins.
