Skiing: Gisin holds off Vonn to claim surprise victory
Switzerland's Dominique Gisin was a surprise winner of the Crans Montana Super-G at the weekend in the final event before the World Cup finals at Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
With the crystal globe for the discipline already been won by overall World Cup leader Lindsey Vonn, there was little to race for at the Swiss resort.
But Gisin, 24, produced a run of 1min 24.14sec to claim her first World Cup win of the season and only the third of her career. She held off Vonn by 0.15sec, with another American, Julia Mancuso, completing the podium.
