Saturday 28 November 2009
The post-Games future of the Stratford stadium could yet be as an 80,000-arena after Lord Coe suggested that it could form the centre-piece of a bid for the 2015 World Athletics Championship.
On Thursday the stadium was included in London United's quest to host matches if England hosts the 2018 World Cup finals. Both events would mean that current plans to reduce it to a 25,000 capacity arena would be scrapped.
