Sport Relief fundraising has hit a record high as new figures show this year's events raised £62.5m – nearly £20m higher than the previous effort in 2010.
More than a million people took part in the running event in March, while the comic John Bishop's Paris to London triathlon contributed more than £4m.
Bishop said of the new figure: "The Sport Relief total is just incredible. When I was asked to take on a challenge for Sport Relief, I've got to admit, I wasn't keen. But after seeing the great work that's happening in Sierra Leone, it was pretty hard to say 'no'. The money raised will mean a lifetime of difference to people who really need it."
The 2010 Sport Relief campaign collected £44m.
