Mark Johnston's stayer Darasim put up a superb front-running performance yesterday to win the Group Two Prix Kergorla at Deauville.

Joe Fanning set the pace in the one mile seven furlong race from fellow British raiders Swing Wing and Pole Star and then pulled away in the final furlong of the short straight for a three-length success.

The British-trained duo of Hoh Buzzard and Felicity finished second and third to State Of Art in the Group Three Prix de la Nonette. State Of Art, trained by David Smaga and ridden by Dominique Boeuf, won by three-quarters of a length to make it three wins from four starts this season.

* Jimmy Quinn has his final rides at Yarmouth tomorrow before leaving Britain for a four-month stint in Hong Kong. The Irish-born lightweight is on the 49-winner mark this season.
