Lee Briers has ended speculation about his immediate future by agreeing a one-year contract extension at Warrington.
The veteran half-back, out of action with a hamstring injury, had been a target for upwardly mobile Barrow of the Co-operative Championship, but they this week signed Jamie Rooney from Wakefield. With Michael Monaghan also re-signed for next year, Briers' new deal could mean it is marginally less inevitable that Salford's England scrum-half, Richie Myler, is on his way to the Wolves.
