Danny Brough's switch from Scotland has failed to win him a place in England's Four Nations plans.

The Wakefield scrum-half captained the Scots in last year's World Cup, but declared this season that he wanted to play for the country of his birth. The England coach, Tony Smith, has ignored his claims though.

He was due to add players from Wakefield and Castleford – both eliminated from the Super League play-offs last weekend – but included only the Cas centre, Michael Shenton.

James Lowes is to stay on as Smith's assistant at Warrington, who have also enlisted Chris Baron from Leicester Tigers as strength and conditioning coach.
