Hudson: re-joins Castleford from Huddersfield

Castleford have continued their team-building for next season by re-signing their former player, Ryan Hudson. The side, who will finish the Super League season in last place regardless of what happens in tonight's match at home to Bradford, have agreed a four-year contract with the hooker, who left them in 2005, but never played for the Bulls because of a drugs ban.

He has since spent two seasons with Huddersfield, where he has re-established himself as one of the best in the competition in his position.

Bradford have Iestyn Harris back to face Castleford today after missing the last two matches with a leg injury.

Warrington have Paul Rauhihi and Lee Briers back to face the Giants – a match in which victory will assure the Wolves of fourth place in the table and a home draw in the play-offs.

Harlequins, who wrap up their campaign at home to the Catalan Dragons tomorrow, have signed two products of Leeds' productive Academy system. The hooker, Ben Kaye, comes direct from Headingley, while the back-row forward, Jason Golden, has been with Wakefield.

Oldham have also announced that Mick Nanyn is leaving them to join Quins on a one-year contract.

James Webster is in line to make his only appearance of the season for Hull in the derby at Hull KR tomorrow. The former Rovers player has been waiting for the British passport that exempts him from the overseas quota. Adam Dykes is still unfit and Scott Wheeldon, who is moving the other way to join Rovers, is left out.

The most poignant place to be tomorrow afternoon will be Hilton Park, where Leigh will play for the last time in their 61 years there when they host Whitehaven in their National League 1 play-off.

Leigh are moving to a custom-built "sporting village" on the outskirts of the town, but before that they will want to qualify for a trip next weekend to Halifax, who knocked out Widnes this week.

Australia's most intimidating forward, Willie Mason, is out of this autumn's World Cup after damaging knee ligaments in the Sydney Roosters' match against St George-Illawarra.

The former Bradford coach, Matthew Elliot, is expected to lose his job at the Australian club, Penrith. That could create an opportunity for Daniel Anderson, who is leaving St Helens at the end of this season, although the New Zealand coach, Stephen Kearney, is also being linked with the position.

Wales have won the European Under-18s Championship by beating France 38-24 in the final of the tournament in Prague.
