"We have been keen to sign him for some time," said their coach, Tony Rea. "We are looking forward to seeing him run out at the Twickenham Stoop."

Lee Smith has become the latest product of Leeds' Academy to graduate to the senior ranks. The 19-year-old winger or full-back has been allocated the No 5 shirt vacated by Marcus Bai's move to Bradford.

"I'm very pleased and, with the quality of the squad we've got, a bit shocked," said Smith, who scored eight tries in 10 appearances last year.

He becomes the 11th player in the Rhinos' designated top 20 to have come through their Academy.
