Leigh have shelved their plans to recruit new players because of disappointing crowds.

"We are already £40,000 down on projected income through the gates and we won't spend money we've not got," the club's executive director, Derek Beaumont, said.

Leigh's one newcomer, the wing Dom Feaunati, is not in the squad for tonight's game at Wigan. Jason Ferris, a winter signing, is out for three months with a broken cheekbone.

The Wigan wing Brian Carney will play his first match since last season's Tri-Nations final after an ankle operation. The second row Harrison Hansen is also fit to return for Denis Betts' side.
