Percival hat-trick puts Leigh on top
Leigh moved to the top of the LHF Healthplan National League One with a 74-24 win at bottom club Rochdale.
Chris Percival scored a first-half hat-trick of tries as the visitors built a 46-0 lead at the interval. Rochdale scored four tries of their own as they gamely attempted a fightback. Leigh ran in five more tries in the second period. Neil Turley bagged a brace and 11 conversions.
Doncaster came from behind to end Whitehaven's unbeaten run and knock them off top spot with a 31-24 victory. Brett McDermott scored a 14th-minute try for the Cumbrian side but was then sent off.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, second-half touchdowns from Jamie Marshall and Paul O'Neil gave them a seven-point advantage but the Dragons' Craig Cook and Matt Walker notched the all-important tries to move them level on points with the Warriors.
Batley, are down to fourth as they slipped to a 24-14 defeat at Halifax. Simon Grix grabbed a brace for the home side and Paul Davidson sealed it late on after tries from Mark Toohey and Chris Spurr gave Batley a glimmer of hope.
