Round-Up: Hull KR pay penalty as Foster salvages a draw

A penalty from Jamie Foster after the final hooter at Craven Park yesterday salvaged a 36-36 draw for St Helens from a thriller against Hull KR.

It was a relief to Foster, whose three misses had left Saints behind, despite outscoring Rovers by seven tries to six. Victory would have taken them top of Super League, but they are now second to Warrington on points difference.

A bad week for Widnes, who suspended three of their players for disciplinary breaches, ended with a 38-18 home defeat by Salford – the City Reds' first win of the season.

Warrington went to the top of the table on Saturday night after a 32-22 win at Huddersfield, helped by two tries from Chris Riley. There was price to pay for the two points, however, Simon Grix and Ben Harrison going off with potentially serious leg injuries. For the Giants, the outstanding prop Eorl Crabtree scored a try.

The Catalan Dragons kept up their winning start, beating Castleford 28-20 in Perpignan. Josh Griffin scored a hat-trick for Cas, who led 16-6 at half-time. The Catalans came back, with Darrell Millard scoring two tries.
