The brand new Engage Super League campaign is almost here and this season’s first round of matches will kick-off in a spectacular new way.
All 14 top-flight Rugby League clubs are set to descend on Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium for the now traditional Magic Weekend which has moved from May to the start of the year.
The venue and the date of the showpiece event, which has been held for the last two years at Murrayfield, are not the only significant changes to look out for in 2011.
PROBIZ, a UK wealth management company with over 400 UK Accountancy offices, are sponsoring the 2011 World Club Challenge for the first time as reigning champions Wigan Warriors take on NRL Premiers St George Illawarra Dragons on 27 February.
As an extension of their commitment to the sport, PROBIZ have also teamed-up with The Independent and Phoenix Multimedia Productions to back the weekly Rugby League podcast which will now be known as the PROBIZ Tryline.
PROBIZ founder, Feisal Nahaboo, said: “Probiz has made a substantial investment in Rugby League in recent months and we are determined to do all that we can to help the sport grow.
“It’s a vision shared by Phoenix Multimedia Productions, who created the Tryline podcast series last season for the Independent with the intention of appealing to both die-hard fans and newcomers.
“The chance, therefore, to throw our weight behind a dedicated Rugby League show is, in my view, a natural next step for us particularly after securing the naming rights to the World Club Challenge and our existing partnerships with Castleford Tigers and Halifax RLFC. I'm confident with our backing there won't be a better podcast for Rugby League.”
The programme carries the latest news, views and reviews as well as offering fans the chance to hear the thoughts of key personnel throughout the course of the season. Each new edition can be downloaded from The Independent website at independent.co.uk/tryline, as well as The Independent’s own iTunes channel.
The PROBIZ Tryline Podcast is fully endorsed by the Rugby Football League and will receive additional promotion through their own website and associated club members.
