Warrington, the Challenge Cup holders for the past two years, have been drawn to play Wigan, the Super League champions, in this season's quarter-finals. The draw last night kept the two Humberside teams apart, with Hull at home to Leeds and Hull KR at St Helens. Huddersfield are at Castleford in the other tie, to be played over the weekend of 23 and 24 July.
The tackle that saw Gareth Raynor sent off in Bradford's fifth-round defeat by Wigan is still reverberating. Raynor will tonight face a charge of making a high tackle to the head or neck, over the challenge that knocked out Sam Tomkins. The Bulls do not accept that the winger should have been dismissed, with their coach, Mick Potter, promising to pursue the matter. The Rugby League said yesterday, however, that it had received no official complaint from the club. Wigan expect Tomkins to be fit for their next game, at home to Hull KR next Monday.Reuse content
