All-Australian final in the fourth regatta of World Match Race Tour

An all-Australian final in the fourth regatta in the World Match Race Tour pitched the young buck Torvar Mirsky against the old war horse Peter Gilmour with 24-year old Mirsky unable to defend the Portugal Match Cup title against the his fellow west Australian from Perth, who won 2-1.

A glowing Gilmour was almost lost for words, “It was all about the starts out there, we managed to win the last two starts giving us a good lead on both finals races,” he said.

In the third-place pay-off Britain’s Ian Williams lost in a sudden death 1-0 against reigning world champion Adam Minoprio of New Zealand.
