Britain and Australia dominated the men's 470 racing at the world championships in Perth yesterday, but the organisers were more concerned by sightings of a large shark near the course. Racing was cancelled on Tuesday due to electrical storms, and organisers put extra aerial patrols in place due to the shark sighting.

Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell of Britain won the three Blue fleet races, and Australia's top-ranked Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page won all three Yellow fleet races. In the Finn class, Giles Scott of Britain had two wins and a second place.

Britain's Ben Ainslie dropped to third overall on a day when 11 contestants were disqualified in the first Blue race, including Britain's Ed Wright, and Olympic silver medallist Zach Railey, of the US.
