A stag party visiting Haydock Park on Saturday were revealed yesterday as holding one of the two winning tickets of the Tote Scoop6. The group of 27 men landed over £130,000 from the win dividend and have the opportunity to win another £191,000 if they select the winner of the bonus race this coming Saturday.

Led by Peter Callan, a forklift-truck driver from Bolton, the group formed a syndicate at the races and picked the winners of the six races televised live on Channel 4, which included the 25-1 outsider Candleriggs at Kempton. The syndicate also claimed two place fund dividends totalling £12,293.

Wayne Flanagan, a telecommunications manager from Manchester, whose forthcoming marriage the group were celebrating, said: "The whole build-up to a wedding costs a small fortune, so this could not have come at a better time. My fiancee Fiona is over the moon. A few of us are off for a week's golfing holiday to La Manga next week, and this will help start up the beer-kitty." The other winning ticket holder is remaining anonymous.
