Smackdown kicked off with a fast-paced match between the Usos and Rybaxel. The Usos sent Ryback over the ropes and Jey followed up with the "Uso Crazy" but Curtis Axel dropkicked the twin while he was on the apron to send him crashing to the outside mat.
While the referee was busy with conducting a count out, Jimmy took advantage and switched with his brother to roll up an suspecting Axel with a pin for the victory. Rybaxel looked frustrated by being duped by the WWE Tag Team Champions in a move that the late Eddie Guerrero would be proud of. The champions now have a lack of fresh competitors following the Wyatt Family's failed pursue of the gold, perhaps the newly teased faction involving Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston could be new contenders.
The Miz welcomed the fans to the return of Miz TV where he did an acceptance speech for his newly won Intercontinental Championship. The "Hollywood Superstar" highly thanked his parents who were in the crowd cheering on their son. The Miz asked his mother who her favourite WWE Superstar was, to which she replied "Roman Reigns" to the dismay of the champion. Miz went on to continue thanking people before a grinning Bo Dallas interrupted. Dallas said it's okay that Miz left him out of his speech because he knows that the reason he won was because he "Bolieved".
The two antagonists praised each other before Dolph Ziggler's music hit to a thunderous ovation from the fans. Ziggler highlighted that the reason why The Miz won the title is because he was playing possum outside the ring and that the only thing that Dallas and Miz have in common are that they are "Full of crap". Dallas told Ziggler that he could be like them if he "Bolieved" but this was met with a push by "The Showoff". Dallas attacked Ziggler as Miz ran away to set up a match between the two.
Ziggler landed the Famouser on Dallas and signalled for the Zig Zag but Miz sneaked up to the the apron to attempt a sneak attack but the former World Champion ducked. The swift reaction Ziggler was not enough to keep him in the match as Dallas took advantage of the distraction and rolled up for the three count. Two newly formed comrades celebrated together but Ziggler supekicked Bo before Miz responded with a throw into the ring post on to Dolph as the segment closed.
Brawl For All
Dean Ambrose made his way to the ring with for a no disqualifications match with Cesaro. This match got very intense right away as the pair brawled all over the ringside area with kendo sticks. Ambrose took the match into a higher gear as he threw up to ten chairs in the ring to create a hill of steel before suplexing Cesaro forcefully into one of them and causing the chair to bend in half. "The Lunatic Fringe" then grabbed another chair and climbed the turnbuckle with it to elbow drop down onto Cesaro. Ambrose looked to have the match won but Seth Rollins attacked but the referee couldn't stop the match as it was no disqualification.
Ambrose managed to fight off his rival and climb to the top rope but Cesaro climbed up with him and superplexed the former Shield member onto the hill of chairs below. The two laid flat on the floor before Cesaro finally went for the pin but Ambrose somehow kicked out. "The Swiss Superman" called for the Neutraliser but Ambrose countered with the third roll up of the night for the win. The victory celebration was short lived as Rollins attacked his nemeses from behind, which was followed by a Neutraliser by Cesaro then a Curb Stomp by the Money in the Bank holder.
The pace settled down as Paige entered the ring for a match with Naomi following her attack on AJ Lee on Raw. Paige grabbed a microphone before the bell rang and said that her and AJ are still friends and that she likes her before telling Naomi that she likes her too. Paige went for a handshake but Cameron appeared on the stage to divert Naomi's attention. Paige changed her mind and attacked the distracted Naomi and quickly won the match by submission with the PTO. The match followed with a stare off between the former Funkadactyls before Naomi performed a snapmare for a brawl to begin. Cameron shoved Noami off the apron before stepping over her to win the battle this time round.
The action continued as Bray Wyatt took in R-Truth as the "Eater of the Worlds" sought to vent out his frustrations following the loss to Chris Jericho at Battleground. Bray won the match in no time with the Sister Abigal before grabbing the microphone to send a message to Jericho. Wyatt said that R-Truth was there for Jericho when he needed him in the past but Jericho is not there in return. Bray concluded that R-Truth needed Y2J right then but he's nowhere to be seen as Jericho is a saviour to no one before the lights had cut out.
Believe In Reigns
The main event of the night saw Roman Reigns take on Alberto Del Rio in a solid match that went back and forth. Del Rio lined up Reigns upside down on the turnbuckle and proceeded to repeatedly kick him. Del Rio lined up and ran for a shoulder block but Reigns sat up and the "Mexican Aristocrat" went straight into the post. Reigns gathered momentum and ran out for a leaping kick onto Del Rio on the apron before returning to the ring to land the Superman Punch. Reigns called for his finisher and hit an impactful spear on Del Rio for the three count.
A clean ending to a show that was filled with controversial finishes to close the action packed edition of Smackdown. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins again proved that they are the engine of the locker room who can be relied on to perform week after week and that addition of Cesaro alongside the Authority only furthers the integrity of the upper card. There have been twists and turns on every level of the roster following Battleground, including the return of Brock Lesnar in the title scene, which means that Reigns now can focus fully on his rivalry with Randy Orton. The powerhouse showed tonight that he means business as he sets his eyes towards Summerslam.
