This week’s show kicked off with one last promo by Dean Ambrose ahead of his match with Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell this Sunday.

Ambrose mentioned of Mick Foley’s segment on Raw where the “Hardcore Legend” spoke about the dangers of the cell. Ambrose said that the difference between him and Foley is that he himself isn’t a nice guy and that he has got nothing to lose, which he stated Rollins will witness first hand during the matchup. Rollins then appeared on the “Titantron” to tell Ambrose that his vengeance wasn’t worth a dime because the future is priceless. “The Architect” concluded that the future begins when he finishes Ambrose at Hell in a Cell to go on and cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

The first contest of the night saw The Miz and Damien Sandow take on Los Matadores in a tag-team match as Sheamus watched on at the commentary desk. “The A Lister” used the match to send messages to Sheamus ahead of their United States Championship bout at this weekend’s pay-per-view. The Miz and his stunt double won the match a synchronised figure-four leg lock while glaring with joy at Sheamus. The duo celebrated in the ring but “The Celtic Warrior” held his title high to signal he is ready for a fight.

AJ Lee made her way to the ring to take on Alicia Fox in a rematch from Raw while Paige watched from ringside. AJ controlled most of the match while Paige attempted to motivate her best friend Fox to get back in the game. The Divas Champion hit a body slam on Fox before whipping Fox into Paige who attempted to interfere on the apron. The brief mix up enabled AJ to take advantage and roll Fox up for the three count. AJ ran up the ramp with her beloved title to go into her upcoming rematch with Paige with all the momentum.

Intercontinental Face-off

The fans were treated to an Intercontinental Championship match between Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro. Cesaro had been seeking a rematch against the champion for some weeks and finally attained it on Raw this past Monday. The champion started the match strong by using his agility to counter Cesaro’s power holds but the “Swiss Superman” was able to counter a DDT with a swinging slide slam to regain force. Cesaro dominated for some minutes and went for swing but Dolph reversed the move before hitting the Zig Zag to retain his Intercontinental Championship. Cesaro later challenged Ziggler for one more fight at Hell in a Cell in a two out of three falls match.

Nikki Bella, Summer Rae and Cameron took on Brie Bella, Natalya and Naomi in a six woman tag-team match to mark the mid-season finale of Total Divas. Brie hit a dropkick on Summer but the antagonists attacked her partners so she had no one to tag in. Summer managed to get back onto her feet and hit a spin kick to enable a tag to Nikki. The rival twin landed the torture rack drop on her sister for the victory as the two prepare for their one on one match at Hell in a Cell.

Bo Dallas and The Dust Brothers took on Mark Henry and The Usos in a six man tag-team bout. Henry was set to win the match after hitting the World’s Strongest Slam on Stardust but Dallas ran in and landed the Bodog to steal the win. Bo claims that Henry is no longer the “World’s Strongest Man” but he himself is as he has now beaten the former Olympian for the fourth time.

Hardcore Havoc

The closing segment of the show saw Rollins call out Ambrose about their Hell in a Cell main event fight. Rollins had a bag full of weapons and he went through every single item to describe how he will use it to hurt Ambrose. The Authority man went through screwdrivers, pliers and lead pipes before describing his favourite weapon, the steel chair. Rollins asked Ambrose if he remembers the feeling of being hit with the chair when he betrayed The Shield in the summer.

Ambrose then ran to the ring and attacked Rollins with a kendo stick but Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury ran down to stop the sabotage. “The Lunatic Fringe” managed to fight the stooges off and placed Mercury on a table before climbing the top rope and landing an elbow drop. The crowd were ecstatic and chanted “One more time” to which Ambrose responded with another elbow drop through the table onto Noble. The audience then chanted “Thank you Ambrose” as their new hero stared at his arch nemesis across the Arena.

Hell in a Cell is now set to be a very strong event with an arsenal of high integrity matchups been built over the last few weeks. The show has been billed as a double main event with John Cena vs Randy Orton and Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose but it will be the latter that the fans have been looking forward to the most. The two youngsters have been able to leave the fans on the edge of the feet during every one of their segments and they will no doubt do the same this Sunday.
