Edward Fryatt heads the British challenge at the half-way stage of the Thailand Open in Sri Racha, after shooting his second successive 70 for a four-under-par total of 140 to lie only two strokes off the pace.

Seve Ballesteros, Jose Maria Olazabal and Colin Montgomerie will all make their first appearance of the year in a special challenge match at the Royal Las Palmas club in Gran Canaria on 4 March. Ballesteros and Olazabal, the most successful Ryder Cup partnership in history, face Scots Montgomerie and Sam Torrance in a fourball game for the Canaries Cup.
