Golf: English girls beat Scots into sixth position
Lisa Walton earned the point that gave England a 4-3 victory over Scotland in a keenly contested play-off for fifth position in the European Junior Girls' Team Championship at St Nom-La-Breteche yesterday. Spain were the surprise winners, defeating the holders, Sweden, 4-3. France clinched third place, beating Italy 5-2. Ireland finished seventh with a 5-2 win against Germany while Wales's 4-3 win over Switzerland put them in 11th position.
