David Robertson moved into the second round of the J&B Scottish Amateur Championship across his home course of Dunbar yesterday with a comfortable 3 and 2 opening victory against Euan Little. The reigning champion, Simon Mackenzie, of West Linton, joined Robertson in moving through to the second round but was still not hopeful of becoming only the fourth player to retain the prestigious title. Roger Beames, of Wick, who suffered such a one hole defeat in the final of the British Amateur Championship at Turnberry in May, won his initial encounter over Paul Peyton, of Calcot Park, by a 4 and 2 margin.Reuse content
