Harris breaks record
The Commonwealth champion Martin Harris lowered his British record to win the 100m backstroke at the Optrex National Winter Championships in Sheffield yesterday. He shaved 0.21sec off the figure he set earlier this year when touching home in 53.15
sec. Mark Foster added the 50m butterfly title to the 50m freestyle he won 24 hours earlier. The City of Leeds men's quartet won the 4 x 100m freestyle relay in a British club team record of 3mins 22.74sec.
